In New Zealand are a number of localities where you can find pliocene fossils. A very good book: "Cenozoic Mollusca of New Zealand" was presented by A.G.Beu and P.A.Maxwell, drawings by R.C.Brazier, New Zealand Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Lower Hutt, 1990. A lot of shells can be identified with this publication. Also "Marwick's illustrations of New Zealand shells", edited by C.A.Fleming in 1966, Wellington can be of help.
