It is very hard to find good specimen in California. Most sites
are behind very unfriendly fences with big "Keep Out" signs. This is a hard state, where
even the pliocene shells have to be taken out of rock. We have a few species from California,
mostly given to us by our friend David Cassel and by Helen Cowan of the R.C.Baker Memorial Museum.
